Dear New Member:

Thank you for your interest in joining the Jefferson County Education Association. When you join JCEA, you also become a member of our state affiliate, the Colorado Education Association (CEA), and our national affiliate, the National Education Association (NEA). Together the United Education Profession (UEP) represents over 3.2 million education employees.

Joining the Association is quick and easy. Simply follow the directions below. It will take no longer than five minute to complete the electronic form. So please fill it out completely!

When you have completed the form, you will be asked to "Submit" it to JCEA. Next, your completed form, including your monthly dues obligation, will be displayed. To complete your membership transaction, simply follow the directions at the top of the form.

Directions:

Association dues are determined according to your contract type (full-time or part-time) and whether or not you are eligible for new-member discount programs offered by JCEA and CEA. To begin the process, please read the information below:

• If you are a full-time educator (i.e., you are licensed, work full-time or more than half-time, salary based on JCEA/JPS salary schedule, district pays full or proportional benefits), please review the three categories under the heading: “Full-time educator."

• If you are a part-time educator (i.e., you are licensed, work half-time, salary based on JCEA/JPS salary schedule, district pays half benefits), please review the three categories under the heading “Part-time Educator."

1. I am joining the Association during my very first year of teaching. Therefore, I will receive both the CEA and JCEA discounted dues. My dues will be $39.92/month.

2. I have prior teaching experience, but I am joining the Association within my first three (probationary) years in Jeffco. Therefore, I will receive the JCEA discounted dues. My dues will be $52.92/month.

3. Neither of the above applies to me. Therefore, I will pay the regular dues of $60.42/month.

Part-time Educator: Please read each description and then clink on the statement which best describes you:

1. I am joining the Association during my very first year of teaching. Therefore, I will receive both the CEA and JCEA discounted dues. My dues will be $21.38/month.

2. I have prior teaching experience and I am joining the Association within my first three (probationary) years in Jeffco. Therefore, I will receive the JCEA discounted dues. My dues will be $27.88/month.

3. Neither of the above applies to me. Therefore, I will pay the regular dues of $31.63/month.

Pleae note: Your payroll authorization shall continue in full force and effect unless revoked in writing and delivered to the JCEA office between September 1st and 15th of any calendar year or authorized by vote of the JCEA Board of Directors. Also, along with your dues, the Association will collect voluntary political contributions called Every Member Option (EMO). Members may request that those contributions be refunded by JCEA and /or CEA by notifying each organization in writing prior to December 15.
