Ethnic-Minority Advisory Committee
- "Diversity is not an ethnic-minority issue.
- It is an Association issue...."
EMAC's purpose is to:
- Promote active ethnic-minority participation in the organization
- Develop leadership at all levels
- Raise awareness of ethnic minority issues
- Build a network of support for ethnic-minority teachers

EMAC calendar: All meeting will be at the JCEA office (1050 Wadsworth, Lakewood) from 4-5 pm, unless noted.

Participation: EMAC members can be as involved as their interest and time allow. There are monthly meetings. You can align yourself with an area of interest, such as:
- Representing JCEA on the Minority Educators Advisory Board for the District
- Representing JCEA on the Diversity Council
- Organizing social events for members of EMAC
- Attending trainings offered by JCEA, CEA, and/or NEA
- Representing JCEA at Delegate Assembly and/or NEA RA
- Attending District conferences or meetings as a representative of JCEA, such as the Diversity Conference
- Writing articles for the INSIGHT on diversity issues
- Mentoring new teachers
- Developing materials for new teachers
- Professional Development planning and implementing
